The NATO Military Committee visited Kyiv on 6 October 2026. Military representatives from all 32 Allies took part. They met Ukrainian counterparts to discuss Ukraine’s military priorities and lessons learned from new types of warfare.

— We are here in full strength, sending a clear message: the bond between NATO and Ukraine is strong and unbreakable, said Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, Chair of the NATO Military Committee, who led the delegation.

The committee met in the NATO-Ukraine Council format, according to NATO. The military representatives then held talks with Ukrainian military commanders and their staffs.

The delegation also visited several air defence, drone warfare and unmanned ground systems sites. NATO says the aim was to see how Ukrainian personnel use these capabilities in practice, and to help the Alliance prepare for threats.

The committee last visited Ukraine as a body in April 2018. At that time, the representatives of the then 29 Allies went to Lviv.
