NATO Approves Sectra's Tiger/S Phone up to NATO SECRET
NATO has certified Sectra's mobile phone Tiger/S 7401 LTE for the security level NATO SECRET, enabling secure communication among NATO officials. The phone is also approved by the EU and can withstand future decryption attempts with quantum computers.
The company states on its website that the new Tiger/S will also be able to withstand future decryption attempts with quantum computers and that the latest version includes support for all fixed networks and mobile 4G networks. In addition to NAMILCOM, the EU, among others, has also approved the phone for use up to its security level SECRET.
– The need for secure and stable communication systems with high availability is greater than ever before. A quantum-secure solution is therefore necessary for our customers to maintain their digital sovereignty. The approval confirms that our latest version of Sectra Tiger/S can handle both today's and tomorrow's threats, says Jeroen de Muijnck, head of Sectra Communications BV.
NATO has its own classification system for information and states on its website that there are four security levels; NATO RESTRICTED, NATO CONFIDENTIAL, NATO SECRET, and COSMIC TOP SECRET.
