MilDef's recently acquired Handheld Group has been tasked with developing operator computers for nano drones. The initial order value is 6 million kronor and the customer is an unnamed defense corporation based in the USA, according to a press release from the company.

- This deal is an example of cross-selling synergies and technical collaborations created between MilDef and Handheld. Handheld's lightweight, rugged, and powerful tablets make a strong case for the development of soldier-carried, high-tech computers in the field. This is an example of our ability to develop and deliver truly customized solutions for our customers, says Daniel Ljunggren, CEO of MilDef Group in the press release.

According to its press release, MilDef is to develop an operator computer for the defense corporation used by soldiers in the field. The control computer is based on a rugged 7-inch Android tablet. Deliveries of larger quantities have not yet begun, but the company describes the growth potential as significant.
