Already in August 2022, Mildef communicated a 20-year framework agreement worth 2.8 billion kronor with an unnamed armed force in a European NATO country. Now, the very first orders under the agreement have been placed to contribute to the digitalisation of the country's army. The order value of the deal amounts to approximately 50 million kronor with deliveries during the period 2023-2024.

The order includes prototype development and system design with a focus on digitalisation, infrastructure, and security. About ten new products within MilDef's 19”/2® segment are being developed with a focus on computers and vehicle networks. MilDef is responsible for the entire rugged infrastructure in the current vehicle fleet.

– MilDef will deliver the next generation of tactical IT to provide a completely new level of technological advantage to this NATO nation. Together with the defence customer, we are creating a leading system design that can be replicated among other nations seeking future-proof digitalisation. This order is a milestone in our ambition to deliver modernisation and NATO interoperability. The order marks the start of this extensive and long-term project, says Björn Karlsson, CEO of MilDef Group.

It is to facilitate the extensive upgrade of tactical IT integrated into an entirely new fleet of military vehicles that this state organisation has turned to MilDef for a complete range of deliveries within hardware, software, integration, and lifecycle services.

According to the press release, the counterpart cannot be disclosed due to national security.
