During a ceremony at Skaraborg Air Wing F 7 in Såtenäs on April 16, Colonel Mattias Ottis assumed the position as the new unit commander. He thereby succeeds Colonel Adam Nelson.

During the ceremony, Mattias Ottis received the flag from his predecessor, marking the change of command. He has previously served as the deputy commander of the wing. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of the development of combat units and their ability to operate in international environments.

– My focus will be on the combat units, their development, and the physical combat value – the cornerstone for F 7's continued strong unit spirit, said Ottis at the ceremony.

The Chief of the Air Force, Major General Jonas Wikman, led the ceremony and thanked Colonel Adam Nelson for his efforts during his tenure as commander of F 7. He highlighted the wing's significance for the Air Force's overall capability and emphasized their broad mission.

– F 7 has always had a complex task with many different capabilities that need to be integrated into a whole. The unit has always delivered, and you have done so through a team effort, said Jonas Wikman.
