The former Minister for Migration, Maria Malmer Stenergard (M), has been appointed as Foreign Minister, announced Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson during the opening of the parliamentary session. She succeeds Tobias Billström, who announced last week that he is leaving politics entirely. Additionally, the CEO of Företagarna, Benjamin Dousa, takes over as Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade.

Malmer Stenergard's previous duties will now be transferred to Johan Forssell (M), whose role as Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade is taken over by Dousa.

Johan Pehrson (L) and Mats Persson (L) are also swapping ministerial posts; the party leader becomes Minister for Education and Mats Persson takes over as Minister for Employment and Integration.

Jessica Rosencrantz (M), former chair of the Riksdag's EU Committee, succeeds Jessika Roswall (M) as Minister for EU Affairs as Roswall leaves the government to become an EU Commissioner.
