The government has appointed Maria Diamant as the new Deputy Director General of the Swedish National Defence Radio Establishment (FRA). She will assume the position on 16 June, according to a press release from the Government Offices of Sweden. Diamant succeeds Charlotta Gustafsson, who has held the position since 2017.

Diamant is currently the Head of the Legal and Administrative Department at the Ministry of Defence and has held several positions within the ministry. She is trained as a judge in the Svea Court of Appeal and has previously worked as a legal expert in the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs.

According to Altinget, Charlotta Gustafsson's latest appointment was extended by the government in December 2022 and expired at the turn of the year 2024/2025.
