The Swedish government has appointed Maria Diamant as the new Director General of the Swedish National Defence Radio Establishment (FRA, Försvarets radioanstalt). She will take up the post on 16 June, according to a press release from the Government Offices of Sweden. Diamant succeeds Charlotta Gustafsson, who has held the post since 2017.

Diamant currently serves as Head of the Expedition and Legal Affairs Division at the Ministry of Defence and has held several positions within the ministry. She is trained as a judge at the Svea Court of Appeal and has previously worked as a legal adviser at the Ministry of Social Affairs.

According to Altinget, Charlotta Gustafsson's most recent appointment was extended by the government in December 2022 and expired at the turn of 2024/2025.
