Major General Lena Persson Herlitz has been appointed by NATO as Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Intelligence at the headquarters in Brussels. She will assume the position after the summer of 2026.

In this role, she will contribute to an even closer connection between NATO's intelligence work and the operational needs of allied countries, says Supreme Commander Michael Claesson.
Persson Herlitz has previously served as Chief of Strategy at the Swedish Armed Forces headquarters and has international experience from service in Bosnia, Kosovo, and Afghanistan. She has also led the Swedish delegation to the Neutral Nations Supervisory Commission on the Korean Peninsula.
