Editorial Policy

Our Commitment

Nordic Defence Sector is an independent news and intelligence platform serving the Nordic and Baltic defence community. Our editorial decisions are made solely by our editorial team, free from commercial or political influence.

Publisher (ansvarig utgivare)

Publisher: Anton Thynell, [email protected]. Nordic Defence Sector holds a Swedish database publishing licence (utgivningsbevis) issued by the Swedish Press and Broadcasting Authority (MPRT), valid until December 2032. Under this framework, a named individual holds legal editorial responsibility for all editorial content on the site.

Editor-in-Chief: Jacob Wollheim, [email protected].

Articles without a personal byline are produced by the editorial team, led by the Editor-in-Chief, under the publisher's responsibility.

Material published by companies through their press rooms is the sender's own, clearly attributed to the company, and is not covered by the editorial publishing licence.

Primary Sources — Always

Every factual claim we publish is traced to a verifiable primary source: official statements, published reports, press releases, procurement documents, or on-record interviews. We do not publish speculation presented as fact. When we analyse or interpret information, we clearly attribute that as editorial perspective, not established fact.

We name our sources wherever possible. When a source must remain confidential, we describe their role and the reason for anonymity, and we require at least one additional independent source for corroboration.

Sponsored and Partner Content

Commercial partnerships are an important part of our business model. When content is produced in collaboration with a commercial partner, it is always clearly labelled "Sponsrat" / "Sponsored" — both in article listings and at the top of the article itself, before any content is displayed.

Sponsored content is never presented as independent editorial journalism. Our editorial team does not alter news coverage based on commercial relationships.

Editorial Independence

Our revenue comes from partner memberships, not programmatic advertising. This means no advertiser can influence our reporting by threatening to withdraw ad spend — because there is none. Partners gain distribution and visibility; they do not gain editorial control.

Corrections

We correct factual errors promptly and transparently. Corrections are noted in the article with a date and description of what was changed. We do not silently alter published articles.

Conflicts of Interest

Members of our editorial team declare any potential conflicts of interest before covering a topic. We do not accept gifts, travel, or hospitality from organisations we cover.

Reader Data and Privacy

We collect anonymous, aggregated statistics about which articles are read — this helps us understand what topics matter to our audience. We never profile individual readers, never sell visitor data, and never use reader behaviour to target advertising. We do not use Google Ads or any third-party advertising network.

AI and Translations

Translations between languages are generated using AI. The original Swedish or English version is always the authoritative one; the AI translation is a service layer. AI does not generate editorial content without approval and review by a human editor.
