Latvia's Defense Minister Andris Sprūds visits Sweden today to meet Defense Minister Pål Jonson (M) and Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard (M). The visit focuses on Sweden's contribution to NATO's forward presence in Latvia and on regional security, writes the Ministry of Defense in a press release.

The ministers meet at the Southern Scanian Regiment P 7 in Revingehed, where they meet Swedish soldiers preparing to participate in NATO's multinational brigade in Latvia. The discussions between the ministers also include NATO-related issues, support for Ukraine, and defense equipment cooperation.

After the visit to the regiment, Andris Sprūds continues to Lund University to participate in a seminar on Baltic security issues. Before the visit to Sweden, Sprūds also had meetings with Finland's Defense Minister in Helsinki, writes Latvia's Ministry of Defense in a press release.
