On 29 September, Kongsberg announced a contract with Oshkosh Defense Europe for PROTECTOR RS4 remote weapon stations with PROTECTOR counter-drone capability. The systems will be fitted to Oshkosh Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTVs) and delivered to the Royal Netherlands Armed Forces.

According to Kongsberg, the combined system lets crews engage single drones as well as more complex threat scenarios. PROTECTOR CUAS pairs sensors and targeting data with effectors to detect, track, identify and neutralise drones. The company says the RS4 is in service with 31 nations and allied forces.

The value of the contract, the number of systems and the delivery schedule were not disclosed.

– The JLTV was designed as an open architecture platform to rapidly integrate best-in-class technologies like KONGSBERG's PROTECTOR CUAS, said Pat Williams, Chief Programs Officer at Oshkosh Defense.

In April 2025, the Dutch Ministry of Defence selected Oshkosh Defense to produce 150 JLTV-based Dutch Expeditionary Patrol Vehicles for the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps, according to Oshkosh.
