Norwegian defence company Kongsberg has signed a contract for the delivery of additional Joint Strike Missiles (JSM) to the United States Air Force. The contract is worth approximately 100 million dollars.
This is stated in a press release from Kongsberg. Deliveries are expected to be completed by the end of June 2030. The contract follows an earlier order placed in June, which NDS reported on previously.
The JSM is a fifth-generation strike missile with stealth capabilities. The missile can be carried internally in the F-35A, allowing the aircraft to retain its low radar signature.
In addition to the United States, the JSM has been selected by Australia, Canada, Germany, Japan, and Norway. Canada is the most recent country to procure the JSM, with NDS reporting on the contract earlier in July.
