The former army chief Karl Engelbrektson has announced his first board assignment. Engelbrektson will join Sparc Group as a board member on 6 July. The company has rapidly acquired dozens of installation companies in areas such as electrical and HVAC and plans to continue in this direction, according to a press release from Sparc on 27 June.

– It is only when people grow that the company can grow. In addition to my role as a board member, I will also conduct internal training in leadership at Sparc Academy and work with strategy and tactics at the management level, says Karl Engelbrektson in the press release.

According to Aktuell Säkerhet on 29 May, Sparc had acquired over 50 companies in the installation industry. During the nearly two years the company has existed, they have acquired companies in areas such as electrical installation as well as companies active in the HVAC and security industries. The acquisition pace has already resulted in a billion turnover.

– We are incredibly proud and happy to have Engelbrektson join the journey. It strengthens our breadth of competence and experience on the board, which makes us stand out in the industry here as well, comments Erik Björklund, CEO of Sparc Group.

Karl Engelbrektson is not the only army-related recruitment the company has made recently. Last year, Sparc Group announced that Nils van der Poel also joined. Van der Poel completed his military service at K 4 and is employed part-time as an instructor at the regiment. According to an interview with Dagens industri, van der Poel will "take a place in the internal training body Sparc Academy" with the aim of training in areas such as team building and leadership.
