Defense Minister Pål Jonson (M) will participate in a meeting of the Nordic defense cooperation Nordefco on May 6–7. The meeting will be held in Rovaniemi in northern Finland and will be led by Finnish Defense Minister Antti Häkkänen.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Defense, the discussions will focus on current NATO issues, continued support for Ukraine, and the European Commission's white paper on European defense readiness, which was presented in March 2025.

Finland is the chair country of Nordefco in 2025 and has previously announced that the implementation of Vision 2030 is a priority for the year. In connection with the previous Nordefco meeting in January, the defense ministers emphasized that the Nordic countries should be able to conduct joint military operations to meet future challenges.
