The unit has played a central role in the development of the Swedish Armed Forces' IT and communications infrastructure and has recruited hundreds of new employees as technical and cybersecurity issues have become increasingly central. The new unit commander, Johan Magnusson, has previously been the planning chief at FMTIS.

The unit is a key player in the Swedish Armed Forces' operations, and I look forward to working together with our employees to meet future demands on leadership, communication capability, and operational effectiveness, says Johan Magnusson.
