The government has appointed Jan Garton as Director General and Head of the Agency for Total Defence Analysis. He will assume the role of Director General in January 2024 and will lead the agency tasked with monitoring, analysing, and evaluating activities within total defence and providing the government with qualified knowledge bases, according to a press release from the Ministry of Defence.

Jan Garton most recently held a position as head of the unit for coordination of defence intelligence matters at the Ministry of Defence. He has previously worked at, among others, the Security Service, Interpol, the former National Criminal Police, and the Armed Forces, according to the Ministry of Defence.
