A majority of Swedes feel threatened by undue information influence from foreign powers. This is shown by the Citizen Survey 2025 published by the Swedish Psychological Defence Agency.
The survey is a recurring study that measures the population's defence willingness and resilience. This year's results show that 58 percent perceive information influence as a concrete threat. At the same time, trust in society's ability to withstand threats remains high.
According to the report, Swedish defence willingness is strong. A clear majority state that they are prepared to defend the country, even at the risk of their own lives. Researchers particularly highlight the connection between high defence willingness and resilience against misleading information.
The survey was conducted by researchers at Uppsala University on behalf of the Swedish Psychological Defence Agency. The results are intended to serve as a knowledge base to strengthen Sweden's psychological defence.
