BAE Systems has announced that the armoured all-terrain vehicle BvS10 will participate in evaluations for the Indian Army starting in September. The new variant will be called BvS10-Sindhu. BAE Systems and Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) have signed a licensing and manufacturing agreement to offer the BvS10 to the Indian Armed Forces, according to a press release on 14 September.

“The BvS10 will demonstrate the crucial capabilities that the Indian Army needs when the vehicle participates in the trials later this month. Superior mobility, flexibility, and the ability to operate in extreme climatic conditions are at the core of the BvS10 design," says Tommy Gustafsson-Rask, CEO of BAE Systems Hägglunds, in the press release, and continues: "Our collaboration with Larsen & Toubro allows us to expand in the Indo-Pacific region."

According to the press release, BAE Systems and Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) have entered into a partnership to introduce the BvS10 to the Indian market. The two companies have signed a licensing and manufacturing agreement to offer the BvS10 to the Indian Armed Forces.

BAE Systems and L&T have upgraded the BvS10 to meet the specific requirements of the Indian Armed Forces. The new variant will be called BvS10-Sindhu, the company states.

“The collaboration between L&T and BAE Systems synergises our strengths to offer a solution that meets the expectations of the Indian Army. The BvS10-Sindhu is the ideal vehicle for the extremely challenging terrain and climatic conditions where it is intended to be deployed," says Mr. Arun Ramchandani, Executive Vice President & Head L&T Defence, in the press release.
