– While the work in the government and among responsible authorities continues to strengthen Sweden's resilience, civil defence also relies on individual preparedness. An updated version of the brochure will assist in this task, says Minister for Civil Defence Carl-Oskar Bohlin in the Ministry of Defence's press release.
– It is a large and important task for MSB. The 2018 version was very well received both nationally and internationally and has been important for many people, especially during serious events such as Russia's large-scale attack on Ukraine. Naturally, we aim for this version to receive equally positive reception and be useful for many, says Charlotte Petri Gornitzka, Director General of MSB in the agency's press release.
In 2018, MSB launched the brochure If Crisis or War Comes. This time, the brochure will be sent to 4.9 million households. According to MSB, the brochure will once again be made accessible and translated into various languages.
– It is an exciting and challenging task and we are keen to collaborate with relevant authorities and organisations at the level possible within the timeframe available to us. We know there is great interest in the brochure and it is heartening to see that there is strong engagement. It shows that it is an important publication for many people and organisations in society, continues Charlotte Petri Gornitzka.
