The government's national security advisor, Henrik Landerholm, was in London yesterday, 8 May, to meet with the national security advisors of the USA and the United Kingdom, Jake Sullivan and Sir Tim Barrow. This is according to a press release from the Government Offices published the same day.

– It is important for Sweden to maintain ongoing contact with key partners such as the USA and the United Kingdom. The discussions naturally focused on Sweden's NATO accession. We appreciate the strong support from both the USA and the United Kingdom and their clear signals that Sweden should become a NATO member as soon as possible, says Henrik Landerholm.

Landerholm is the first to hold the position in Sweden, he was appointed last autumn by the government and was, until shortly before the appointment, Director General of the Swedish Psychological Defence Agency. He has previously been, among other roles, Chairman of the Defence Committee, a member of the Defence Commission, and led the combined Swedish effort in Northern Afghanistan for two years before serving as Sweden's ambassador to Latvia and the United Arab Emirates according to the Government Offices.
