Handheld Group, a Swedish manufacturer of rugged computers and wholly owned by MilDef, states in a press release that it has won a contract to deliver a large number of operator computers for nano drones.

The customer is a global defense corporation based in the USA, and the contract is a follow-up order to the one announced in July 2023, which Defense Sector News has previously written about. The new order amounts to 69 million SEK, and deliveries are planned for 2025-2026, Handheld writes. The company further states that there is growth potential as deliveries of additional quantities begin.

– We are pleased to announce that our collaborative project with MilDef has resulted in a new follow-up order. This demonstrates our ability to deliver rugged computers that precisely meet the customer's requirements. We are proud to see our skills translate into continued success, says Erik Hansdotter, Product Manager at Handheld Group, in the press release.

The customized operator computer from Handheld is based on a 7-inch rugged Android tablet.
