The Slovak company KOVAL SYSTEMS has won a contract with BAE Systems Hägglunds to perform what is described as a "complete turret assembly" for the Slovak combat vehicles 90 (CV90). Additionally, they will produce other components for the vehicles at their facility in Beluša. This is according to a press release from Hägglunds on 2 May.

- Together with our Slovak partners, we are dedicated to delivering a combat vehicle with advanced capabilities to the Slovak defence, says Tommy Gustafsson-Rask, CEO of BAE Systems Hägglunds.

- We believe that this programme will benefit the Slovak army and be a success for Hägglunds, KOVAL, and our entire network of Slovak suppliers. These valuable strategic partnerships will strengthen the Slovak industry in the long term, says Ján Michálek, business director at KOVAL SYSTEMS.

The agreement arose thanks to the industrial cooperation between Hägglunds and local Slovak industrial partners. The industrial cooperation takes place against the backdrop of Slovakia signing an agreement with Hägglunds to purchase 152 units of the latest variant of the CV9035, CV90 MkIV, for 1.37 billion euros in December last year.
