– This contract represents an important step for Tatra Defence Vehicle and the entire CSG consortium. We are proud to showcase our expertise and competence on an international level and further develop our strategic relationship with BAE Systems Hägglunds, says Tomáš Mohapl, CEO of Tatra Defence Vehicle, in the press release.
The agreement between BAE Systems and Tatra Defence Vehicle includes welding, painting, and installation of hull insulation for 250 new BvS10 vehicles, with an option for an additional 274 units. Prototype manufacturing will commence this summer, and series production is planned to start at the end of 2025.
The contract builds on the established collaboration between the Czechoslovak Group (CSG) consortium and BAE Systems Hägglunds. BAE states that the contract strengthens the ties between the Swedish and Czech defence industries and enables the use of advanced production technology from Tatra Defence Vehicle.
In addition to the Czech industry's ongoing involvement in the CV90 MkIV programme for the Czech Army, BAE Systems anticipates further business opportunities, which are already beginning to emerge.
– Collaborating with Tatra Defence Vehicle allows us to leverage its advanced production technologies while supporting the integration of the Czech defence industry into our global supply chain, says Tommy Gustafsson-Rask, CEO of BAE Systems Hägglunds, and continues:
– This contract is a testament to our mutual trust in Tatra Defence Vehicle, and we expect it to provide many more opportunities for both parties.
