BAE Systems Hägglunds has entered into a contract with the Israeli defense company Elbit Systems. Elbit will supply the Iron Fist Active Protection System (APS) to one of Hägglunds' unnamed European CV 90 customers. The contract is valued at 109 million dollars and the delivery will take place over three years, according to a press release from Elbit Systems on September 11.

– With several new customers in Europe, close cooperation with our partners is required to deliver the world's most modern IFV CV90. Elbit is such a partner that contributes with a crucial capability enhancement, says Hägglunds CEO Tommy Gustafsson-Rask, to Defense Sector News.

This is not the first time Hägglunds has used Elbit's Iron Fist as a protection solution for the Combat Vehicle 90. In February 2021, the companies entered into a contract valued at 82 million dollars to install the system on the Netherlands' CV90 fleet. The contract was preceded by an agreement between the Netherlands and Hägglunds regarding the replacement of the combat vehicles' turrets.

In a comment to Defense Sector News, Tobias Wennberg, CEO of Elbit Systems Sweden, talks about the companies' relationship:

“We have an excellent and strategic collaboration with BAE Hägglunds and we look forward to continuing to support Hägglunds and their CV90 customers going forward with world-leading systems.”
