According to the Swedish Armed Forces, Sweden will make a formal offer in September, and the headquarters is referred to as Joint Logistic Support Group Headquarters North West, JLSG HQ NW, with the capability to handle troop movements up to division size.
The government announcement states that the headquarters will be part of NATO's command structure and staffed centrally by NATO, with the possibility for all allies to place staff officers.
– NATO presence in Sweden strengthens Swedish security and deterrence. The logistics function contributes to facilitating the defense of NATO's northern flank, says Minister of Defense Pål Jonson (M) in the government's press release.
