Germany Orders up to 876 Patria 6x6 Vehicles
Germany has signed two agreements with Patria for the delivery of up to 876 armoured vehicles, marking the largest deal in Patria's history. Deliveries will begin in 2026 and include technology transfer to German industry partners to ensure long-term supply.
Germany enters the full-scale delivery phase within the multinational CAVS programme and signs two series contracts with Patria valued at over two billion euros. At the same time, Sweden increases its order to a total of 415 vehicles.
Patria has signed two comprehensive series contracts with Germany for the delivery of up to 876 armoured personnel carriers of the Patria 6x6 type, referred to in Germany as “GTK ZLK” and in Sweden as Pansarterrängbil 300. The contracts are valued at over two billion euros, with a fixed order value exceeding one billion. The deal is the largest in Patria's history.
Deliveries will commence in 2026. Simultaneously, technology transfer to the German industrial partners FFG, JWT, and KNDS will begin. Full local production capacity is to be established by 2027, with the aim of securing long-term supply needs for the Bundeswehr. The order includes four variants of the vehicle, including models with the turret-mounted mortar system Patria NEMO and the Kongsberg RS4 remote weapon station.
– Germany's confidence in Patria and the CAVS programme underscores a modern approach to multinational defence cooperation, says Patria's CEO Esa Rautalinko in a press release from the company.
The agreement is described by Patria as a milestone both industrially and operationally. In addition to strengthening the Bundeswehr's mechanised capability, the German participation contributes to further developing the platform with solutions that other CAVS countries can also benefit from. Germany's goal is to achieve full combat readiness with the new system by 2029.
