Fredrik Peedu will assume the position of new Director of Communications in the Swedish Armed Forces on February 10 and will simultaneously be promoted to Rear Admiral. He succeeds Brigadier General Anna Siverstig, who will become a military advisor at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

– I view the role of Director of Communications with both enthusiasm and seriousness. It is a great trust and responsibility that I will handle to the best of my ability in the challenging times we are in, says Fredrik Peedu in a press release from the Swedish Armed Forces.

Peedu has previously been the head of the Swedish EOD and Demining Centre (Swedec), a department head at the Headquarters, a defense attaché in Italy, and a ship commander in the navy. He most recently served as Deputy Director of Personnel at the Defense Staff in the Headquarters.

Outgoing Director of Communications Anna Siverstig has held the position since October 2023. She is now leaving the Swedish Armed Forces for a new role at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
