France Orders Two GlobalEye from Saab

Saab has signed an agreement with the French defence procurement agency, Direction générale de l’Armement (DGA), for the delivery of two GlobalEye surveillance and command systems. This is stated in a press release from Saab.

– Today's agreement underscores the strong partnership between Saab and France. By choosing GlobalEye, France is investing in a highly modern and capable airborne solution for surveillance and command capability. The choice strengthens France's endeavour to safeguard its sovereignty and enhances NATO's overall protection, with both Sweden and France as operators of GlobalEye, says Micael Johansson, President and CEO of Saab, in the press release.

The order also includes ground equipment, training, and support, and is valued at approximately 12.3 billion SEK. Deliveries are planned to take place between 2029 and 2032. The agreement also includes an option for an additional two aircraft.

– France's decision to procure 2 GlobalEye will further deepen defence cooperation between our countries and also the strategic defence materiel cooperation. It will also promote closer collaboration between the countries' defence companies, writes Defence Minister Pål Jonson (M), on X/Twitter.
