MilDef manufactures control computers for nano drones

MilDef's recently acquired Handheld Group has been tasked with developing operator computers for nano drones. The initial order value is 6 million kronor and the customer is an unnamed defence corporation based in the USA.

MilDef and Saab-owned UMS Skeldar launch console for drones

MilDef and UMS Skeldar are launching a pilot console for drones. MilDef has developed a console for SKELDAR's V-200 platform. SKELDAR, in turn, will deliver the unmanned aerial system and operator consoles to naval defence forces.

Poland's Defence Minister: "We are buying Saab 340 AEW"

Poland has ordered two radar surveillance aircraft model 340 Airborne Early Warning with an order value of 600 million kronor. The contract period is 2023 - 2025 and also includes ground equipment as well as logistics and support services.

Government appoints new Director General of the Coast Guard

The government has decided to appoint Lena Lindgren Schelin as Director General and head of the Coast Guard. Lena Lindgren Schelin has been Director General at the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) since March 2018. She will assume her new position on 1 September.

Saab conducts keel laying of Polish signals intelligence ship

On 27 June, the keel laying ceremony was conducted for the first of two new Polish signals intelligence ships. Saab signed an agreement with Poland last November for two ships valued at approximately 6.7 billion kronor. The ships are planned to be delivered in 2027.

Brazil evaluates Swedish combat vehicle

The Brazilian Army has conducted tests and evaluation of BAE Hägglunds' combat vehicle CV90 in Rio de Janeiro. BAE Systems Brazil's head, Marco Caffé, stated in an interview with the defence site Defesa Aérea & Naval that it was "fantastic to showcase the CV90's proven capability to the Brazilian Army."

Saab has submitted a bid for four submarines to the Netherlands

Saab has submitted its offer in the procurement of new submarines for the Netherlands. The bid consists of four expedition submarines in collaboration with the Dutch shipyard Damen Shipyards Group.
