According to the Ministry of Defence, the visit includes the following programme points:
Initially, the Defence Minister will attend the Reagan National Defense Forum conference taking place on 2 December in Simi Valley, California. The conference is in its tenth year and is aimed at politicians, the defence industry, innovators, and representatives from the US military branches.
In San Francisco, Pål Jonson will visit the Nordic Innovation House in Silicon Valley to meet with Swedish companies, authorities, and organisations operating in California.
In Washington D.C., the Defence Minister will meet with US Secretary of Defence Lloyd J. Austin III and Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro.
The Defence Minister will also have meetings with members of Congress during his visit to Washington D.C.
The Defence Minister will also participate in a seminar at the Atlantic Council focusing on Sweden's future role in NATO.
Finally, the Defence Minister will visit one of NATO's operational headquarters, Joint Forces Command Norfolk. The US trip concludes with a visit to NATO's Allied Command Transformation, which is NATO's command for the development of strategic warfare and capability development.
