At the Göta Logistic Regiment in Skövde, employed soldiers and officers have become the first in the Swedish Armed Forces to wear the new uniform system, Ground Combat Uniform 24, MSU 24. The system is being gradually introduced to combat units throughout the year.

MSU 24 consists of a complete set of garments, from base layers to shell jackets and reinforcement layers. It has been developed within the framework of the Nordic defence cooperation NORDEFCO and is adapted for both women and men. The outer layers are made of flame-resistant materials with embedded carbon fibres for increased protection in the field.

– It is an important work tool that must always function, whether we are marching, carrying heavy loads, skiing, or fighting, says Colonel Elisabeth Skoglund, regiment commander at the Göta Logistic Regiment, in an interview on the Swedish Armed Forces' website.

The system is equipped with sewn-on knee pads, adjustable according to the user's needs, and is reported to have good moisture-wicking capabilities. The M90 uniform will continue to be the basic attire for non-combat positions for a long time to come.
