During the summer, FOI conducted a training session on drone systems for Swedish instructors participating in the UK-led Interflex support to Ukraine, reports the agency. The aim was to enhance the participants' knowledge for the continued training of Ukrainian soldiers in the United Kingdom.

The training gathered over 100 participants from the Swedish Army and Home Guard, including elements such as theory, demonstrations, and practical handling of various types of drones. The focus was particularly on FPV drones and systems for reconnaissance and command support.

– It was very rewarding to see a selection of the systems used in Ukraine. It provides a mental image of what it feels like when these are circulating in the air around you, says one of the participants in FOI's news.

Support from FOI will continue in the fall in the form of advice on the procurement of FPV systems to be used in ongoing training in the United Kingdom.
