Crowd forecasting is based on the principle of gathering many individuals' assessments to create accurate forecasts. Glimt is available to participants from all over the world, regardless of background or experience. Ivar Ekman, project manager for Glimt at FOI, describes the platform as an opportunity to unite individuals' perspectives into a clearer picture of the future.
– Every person only has a glimpse of the whole, but when we see things from many different angles simultaneously, we also see more. That is what Glimt is about, combining many different perspectives from many different people, says Ekman in the press release.
Glimt officially launches on January 20 and welcomes everyone to contribute their forecasts, from retirees to students and professionals. FOI emphasizes that participants do not need any specific expertise and that anonymous participation is encouraged.
– It can also turn traditional intelligence work into a popular movement, continues Ivar Ekman.
The platform is designed to assist Ukraine in its preparations and adaptations by anticipating upcoming events and creating a basis for strategic decisions. FOI emphasizes that this can help strengthen Ukraine's defense in the ongoing struggle against Russia's invasion.
FOI states that Glimt welcomes participants from all over the world to contribute their forecasts. They are seeking individuals with time and commitment, from retirees to students and professionals, to participate and enhance the collective intelligence.
