The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has signed a ten-year service agreement with Bombardier Defense for two Global 6500 aircraft delivered to the Swedish Armed Forces (Försvarsmakten).
Bombardier Defense states that FMV signed the agreement on behalf of the Swedish Armed Forces, as part of a fleet modernisation in which the two aircraft were recently procured and delivered. The aircraft will be used in several different roles, including head-of-state transport.
The agreement, a so-called Services Support Agreement (SSA), covers the two Global 6500 aircraft and forms part of Bombardier's Smart Services Defense programme. The programme covers costs for spare parts including landing gear and auxiliary power units (APU), labour, ground support equipment, technical expertise, technical assistance, access to mobile response teams, and freight costs. The agreement gives the Swedish Armed Forces access to Bombardier's around-the-clock service and support network.

We deliver long-term operational assurance for defence and mission-configured customers around the world," said Paul Sislian, Executive Vice President, Aircraft Sales and Aftermarket Services, in the press release.
"Through the Smart Services Defense programme, the Swedish Armed Forces receive seamless OEM support, enhanced readiness, and predictable life-cycle costs," said Sislian.
Brigadier General Carl-Frederik Edström, Head of the Air and Space Systems Division at FMV, and Paul Sislian attended a ceremony to mark the signing of the agreement.
