The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has signed an agreement with the Netherlands on radar systems, with the stated aim of strengthening defence cooperation between Sweden and the Netherlands.
FMV states that the agreement builds on a previously signed joint Letter of Intent between Sweden and the Netherlands on deepened cooperation in the area of radar and sensor systems.
According to FMV, the cooperation covers information exchange, harmonisation of technical requirements and contractual terms, maintenance agreements, system development, and industrial cooperation.
FMV further states that the agency has previously signed agreements with the Dutch company Thales on medium-range radar (GM200 MM/C) and specially long-range radar (SMART-L). Both systems are part of the New Sensor Systems Programme (Program Sensorsystem Ny). FMV already holds a billion-krona agreement with Thales, which NDS has previously reported on.
