The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has signed a seven-year framework agreement with MilDef for NATO-interoperable command and control support systems for the Swedish Armed Forces (Försvarsmakten). The framework agreement is valued at 1.5 billion Swedish kronor and covers software, hardware, integration and services throughout the entire lifecycle of the systems.
According to FMV, the agreement will provide the Swedish Armed Forces with a new generation of command and control support systems that improve situational awareness, command capability and interoperability between the Army, Navy, Air Force and NATO allies. The agreement takes effect from 1 July 2026, and in connection with the signing, an initial order was placed for licences for MilDef's software OneCIS.
"Effective command and control systems strengthen the ability to operate jointly between tactically cooperating units within the Army, Air Force and Navy, as well as NATO allies. The seven-year agreement with MilDef helps to build the Swedish Armed Forces' capability over time," says Rebecca Ihrfors, Head of the Command and Control Systems business area at FMV.
MilDef states in a press release that the framework agreement covers the company's OneCIS software, associated hardware, integration and services throughout the entire lifecycle of the systems. In connection with the signing of the agreement, an initial order for OneCIS licences was also placed.
"FMV's confidence is a testament to our ability to deliver a sought-after complete solution comprising software, hardware and integration services. FMV's business areas within the Army, Navy and Air Force will now be able to place call-off orders under the framework agreement, in order to create the capabilities needed within Swedish defence," says Daniel Ljunggren, CEO and Group Chief Executive of MilDef.
