FMV has signed a framework agreement with Swecon construction machinery for the procurement of wheel loaders and related equipment for the entire Swedish Armed Forces. The agreement spans seven years and amounts to a value of 1.2 billion kronor. According to the agreement, FMV and Swecon, together with the industry, will also collaborate to increase supply security in both crisis and war, writes FMV and Swecon in press releases.

– The framework agreement between FMV and Swecon entails an expanded and deepened cooperation between the parties, which ultimately increases supply security for the Swedish Armed Forces, says Linus Harenius, project manager at FMV, to the authority.

The agreement includes six different wheel loader models, associated tools, and spare parts. The wheel loader system is used throughout the Swedish Armed Forces and is an important component in logistics, fieldwork, and airfield maintenance at all readiness levels, writes FMV.

FMV has already placed an order from the framework agreement worth approximately 210 million kronor with expected delivery in 2024 and 2025.

The first order under the new framework agreement includes 31 Volvo L35H, 26 L60H, and 24 L110H. Deliveries of most machines, a total of 71, are expected to occur during the current year, while the remaining ten machines are estimated to be ready at the beginning of 2025. Additionally, over 300 different tools for the machines are ordered.

– A good start to the continued cooperation with FMV, says Tomas Nieminen, Manager Project Sales at Swecon in the company's press release.

In June last year, Swecon made its last delivery under the framework agreement with FMV signed in 2018, which has now expired, as FSN previously reported.
