The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has signed an agreement with Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace for the delivery of Remote Weapon Stations for the Combat Vehicle 90 (CV90). The contract is valued at over 400 million Swedish kronor and can be expanded to include more vehicles.

According to FMV, the agreement pertains to the new weapon station VS02 (Kongsberg RS4), which is an advancement of the army's existing VS01 (Protector Nordic). In addition to integration on three variants of the Combat Vehicle 90, the order also includes other platforms within the army.

– The weapon station VS02 provides a significant capability enhancement to all platforms on which it is integrated, says Alexander Sandercock, project manager for weapon stations at FMV.

The contract also includes the integration of the weapon station on the Combat Vehicle 90 in collaboration with the vehicle supplier H-B Utveckling. The same system has previously been ordered for the Armoured Terrain Vehicle 300 and Archer 8x8.
