The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has signed a contract with BUVI Scandinavia AB for the delivery of EvoLogics' unmanned surface vehicle Sonobot 5 to the Swedish Armed Forces. The contract value amounts to 43 million Swedish kronor, including options.
FMV states that the vehicle will primarily be used within the field engineering domain to survey waterways before floating bridge systems are established. The contract covers a complete system, including support services and training.
"With this system, detailed 3D images of the seabed can be created in a short time. This will lead to more efficient and faster decision-making support, as well as an improved field engineering capability within the Swedish Armed Forces," says Gabriel Dalborg, systems engineer at FMV.
The systems will primarily be used by the army's engineer units. The procurement has been carried out by FMV's Army Materiel business area in collaboration with representatives from the Naval Materiel business area.
Delivery is planned for autumn 2026, after which the systems will be tested and evaluated in both coastal and inland environments. The agreement also allows for additional orders of EvoLogics' unmanned vehicle.
According to the press release, BUVI Scandinavia, EvoLogics and FMV will jointly work to adapt and integrate the system to meet Swedish operational requirements.
