The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration has signed a contract with Saab for the reacquisition of ten combat boats to replace those donated to Ukraine. The new boats will be based on the latest version of the Combat Boat 90 HSM (Half Platoon, Protection and Modified).

The order value amounts to approximately 400 million kronor, and the contract period begins in 2024. Deliveries will take place continuously over the coming years.

– With this order, FMV creates the conditions to maintain a high capability within the Swedish Armed Forces' amphibious units, says Anders Wikner, project manager at FMV, in the agency's press release.

The manufacturing takes place at Saab's shipyard in Docksta, and the boats will have the same basic design as the previous models.

– Combat boats are advanced platforms that can be used for many different types of missions. We are proud that Saab's maritime capabilities continue to contribute to Sweden's defence, says Mats Wicksell, head of Saab's business area Kockums, in the company's press release.
