FMV Opens Test Week for New Defence Technology

The Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) is running the initiative Battle Week, where companies have the opportunity to test and demonstrate technical solutions to protect critical infrastructure in realistic environments. According to FMV, participating companies receive feedback from experts and have the chance to meet end-users, which may lead to future procurements.

FMV Opens Test Week for New Defence Technology

The initiative Battle Week provides companies with the opportunity to test and demonstrate technical solutions for military needs. During the week, companies can try out how their products or services perform in realistic environments at test sites operated by the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV). The initiative is conducted in collaboration with the Swedish Armed Forces (Försvarsmakten), the Swedish Defence Research Agency (Totalförsvarets forskningsinstitut, FOI), and the Swedish Defence University (Försvarshögskolan).

– This time, Battle Week is aimed at companies that have technology, products, components, or methods that can contribute to protecting critical infrastructure. The crucial factor is whether the solution can provide military utility, writes FMV in a press release.

According to FMV, the goal is to explore how various technical solutions can enhance military capability. The demonstrations will be conducted together with end-users and experts and may include everything from complete systems to individual components, with a focus on functionality and practical application.

This round particularly focuses on solutions that can help protect land-based critical infrastructure. This may involve the protection of sensor stations, power supply, communication systems, and other facilities, as well as protection against cyberattacks, electronic warfare, and physical attacks.

Companies will have the opportunity to demonstrate their solutions at FMV's test sites for a fee. The results will then be compiled into a report that may serve as a basis for further development or future procurements, according to the authority.

The application for participation closes on 29 April 2026, and the demonstration week will take place in weeks 38 and 39. Throughout the year, several similar weeks are planned, focusing on different military needs.
