FMV has procured a new framework agreement with Svensk konstruktionstjänst AB, Svekon, for command tents for the Swedish Armed Forces. The procurement includes the design and development of an entirely new tent to replace Command Tent 22, FMV states in a press release.

The framework agreement allows for the procurement of 1,300 complete tents, of which 300 have now been ordered, with delivery to the Swedish Armed Forces scheduled for the second quarter of 2025, according to FMV.

– We are very pleased that the procurement has been completed. We at Svekon look forward to a good collaboration with FMV to develop and deliver the next generation of command tents, says Jakob Jensen, Head of Defense and Security at Svekon to Defense Sector News.

Some of the improvements include that the tents will be equipped with inner flooring and will have a new modern tent fabric. Heating of the tents will continue to be possible with a wood-burning stove. Svekon will collaborate with Tekonf AB to develop the new tent, the agency writes.
