– Now, long-term agreements are being concluded that provide the industry with better conditions to invest in its production capacity. This strengthens Swedish security and resilience, says Minister of Defence Pål Jonson (M) in the ministry's press release.
According to FMV, the order value for Nammo is 1.8 billion SEK – the largest order for small-caliber ammunition to the company in over 30 years – and approximately 1.4 billion SEK to Norma, which is simultaneously the largest order FMV has made to the company so far. Deliveries will begin in the fall of 2025 and continue through 2028.
– It is very gratifying to once again sign long-term contracts with the industry. That it simultaneously contributes to good production conditions for the industry and increases supply security makes it even more motivating, says Carl-Axel Blomdahl, head of the weapons and protection department, FMV.
The agreements include requirements for supply security in the supply chains, where the suppliers commit to developing specific supply security plans. FMV also has the right to adjust both ammunition types and volumes, depending on the needs of the Armed Forces, according to the agency's press releases.
