FMV states that the agreement consists of two parts: partly the build-up of production in Sweden, and partly an additional order of artillery ammunition. Nammo's expansion of production capacity is partially financed by the Swedish state and partially by the EU within the ASAP initiative (Act in Support of Ammunition Production).
In January, FMV signed an agreement with Nammo to support a project application within the framework of the ASAP initiative for investment in increased production capacity of artillery ammunition in Sweden, which FSN previously reported on.
– The agreement with Nammo is an important step to increase the production of artillery ammunition in Sweden and the Nordic region while strengthening the supply security of artillery ammunition for the Swedish Armed Forces at all readiness levels, says Jonas Lotsne, head of FMV's Army Materiel division, in the press release.
