The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) announced on 12 April that the first delivery inspections have now been conducted on the Armoured Terrain Vehicle 202/203, which is undergoing refurbishment at the Finnish defence company Patria Land Oy. The project is scheduled to be completed in early 2026, by which time all 168 vehicles will have undergone refurbishment.

The refurbishment contract with Patria is divided into two parts, a fixed part and a variable part. The fixed part includes measures carried out on all vehicles, such as configuration updates, obsolescence management, maintenance and repair, as well as minor modifications resulting from the Swedish Armed Forces' experiences with the system.

– The variable part includes measures decided by the Swedish Armed Forces in conjunction with the status inspection of the vehicles, which is conducted before they are transported to Finland, such as surface treatment and painting, among other things, says Gustav Ericsson, project manager at FMV.

– The vehicles that FMV and the Swedish Armed Forces have now conducted delivery inspections on are of very high standard, says Per Loman, Swedish Armed Forces, who is responsible for the reception of vehicle deliveries.
