The chemical liquid protection suit is designed to protect the wearer against liquid-form chemical warfare agents and is used as personal protection for soldiers during chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) incidents.
– The Swedish Armed Forces (Försvarsmakten) have previously used chemical liquid protection as a good solution for quick and easy protection, as individual soldiers carry the protection with them at all times. This solution is adapted to our protective mask and forms part of the soldier's personal protection, says Gunnar Palm, project manager at the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), in a press release.
The protection consists of an upper part and a lower part manufactured from a plastic material. The material is described as thin and durable, and is intended for single use. FMV further states that the protection is one size and is worn as a supplementary layer covering the body.
Nordic Defence Sector (NDS) has previously reported that FMV in 2025 ordered several types of personal protective equipment for the Swedish Armed Forces, including face shields, protective gloves, protective suits, and chemical liquid protection suits. The order for chemical liquid protection suits was placed with Interspiro AB and amounted to approximately ten million Swedish kronor, with delivery planned for April 2026.
