The tractor trucks, delivered by Volvo Trucks, are equipped for long-distance driving with features that allow two people to sleep in the cab. They also have a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker to facilitate the drivers.
The trailers, built by Närko and delivered via Scania, are extra low-built to accommodate two 20-foot containers and keep the total height under four meters. They are equipped with three axles, where the first and last axles are liftable, and air suspension for increased stability.
Both the tractor trucks and trailers are EXIII-classified and approved for the transport of dangerous goods.
– These units are a much-anticipated addition as transport assignments are continuously increasing, says Ulf Hjelmberg, system engineer for wheeled vehicles at FMV.
