The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration has signed a framework agreement with the Polish company Szczęśniak Pojazdy Specjalne for the delivery of heavy recovery vehicles. The order includes an initial call-off of ten vehicles with planned delivery in December. After delivery, a testing period will begin where the systems will be evaluated before a decision on potential series production, according to a press release from FMV.

The deal has an estimated value of approximately 600 million SEK and is valid for four years with the possibility of a three-year extension. The new heavy recovery vehicles are intended to strengthen the function for the recovery of materiel, OHT, which according to the authority has been neglected for a long time.

Subcontractors include the Swedish company Sepson, which supplies the winch systems, and Scania, which provides the vehicle chassis. The heavy recovery vehicles are built on a Scania 8x8 chassis with 520 horsepower. They are equipped with five winch units, with the main winch having a pulling capacity of 20 tons.
