The Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (FMI) has signed a cooperation agreement with the defence innovation hub DENWERX. The agreement was signed at the Danish embassy in Washington, D.C.
According to FMI, DENWERX will connect the Danish Armed Forces with industry and research institutions. Smaller companies and startups are a particular focus. Under the agreement, FMI will help build closer ties between Danish and US academic communities.
DENWERX is modelled on the US organisation DEFENSEWERX. DEFENSEWERX links authorities, companies and innovators to work on specific defence needs.
— Danish companies have strong competencies and innovative solutions that can help meet concrete American defence needs, writes naval attaché and assistant defence industry attaché in the US Dennis Armand on LinkedIn.
Armand adds that he sees potential for business-to-government cooperation across the Atlantic.
