Swedish company Flexotrap AB and Finnish company Millog Oy have entered into a commercial and operational partnership covering six Nordic and Baltic markets. Millog will become the distributor of Flexotrap's modular bullet trap systems in Finland, Norway, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, and will also be able to provide installation, service, maintenance and life cycle support. The partnership was announced on 19 August.
"We are seeing rapidly growing demand for modern and flexible infrastructure for training both military and civilian shooters in the Nordic and Baltic regions. Meeting this demand requires both system deliveries and a strong, customer focused structure for sales, installation and long term support. Millog has the expertise, organisation and presence needed for this," says Elias Mibesjö, CEO of Flexotrap, in a press release.
The agreements create a joint framework for developing new business opportunities in the markets concerned, according to the press release. The distribution agreement is non-exclusive and covers Flexotrap's products as well as aftermarket and spare parts.
Assignments involving installation, service and life cycle management will be agreed separately for each project. Flexotrap thereby combines its product and systems expertise with Millog's local sales organisation and technical resources.
"Flexotrap's solutions give authorities, military and civilian users new opportunities to increase capacity at shooting ranges and expand training facilities in a safe and cost effective way," says Toni Piispa, vice president at Millog's Authorities and Industry business unit.
Flexotrap develops modular bullet trap systems for permanent, temporary and relocatable indoor and outdoor shooting ranges. The systems collect projectiles and residual material centrally without the use of rubber granulate, and are used by, among others, defence, police and security organisations.
Millog is a strategic partner to the Finnish Defence Forces (Puolustusvoimat) and works with, among other things, life cycle management, service, maintenance and warehousing. The company's services also include life cycle planning, technical upgrades, spare parts procurement, logistics and decommissioning.
